  • Year: Candidates who passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2021 and 2022, or who plan on taking it in 2023, are eligible for JEE Main 2023.
  • Qualifying Marks: There is no minimum pass percentage for appearing in the JEE Main exam. However, the applicants must pass their Class 12 board or other equivalent examinations.
  • Required percentage of marks: Candidates must have a minimum of 75% on their respective boards (65% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Number of Attempts: Candidates may take the exam a total of 6 times in three years.
  • Subjects Pursued in the Qualifying Exam: The applicant must have completed the 12th or equivalent test with a minimum of 5 subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Language, and an optional subject.

  • The paper will have a total of 90 questions, with 20 questions in section A and 10 in section B. Candidates can attempt 75 questions (300 marks) with 20 questions in section A and 5 questions in section B for each subject – Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.

JEE Main Paper 1 Marking Scheme

  • Unlike the earlier years, negative marking has been introduced in Section B.

JEE Main Paper 2A (B.Arch Courses)

  • Exam Mode: Part-I: Mathematics and Part-II: Aptitude Test in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only Part-III: Drawing Test in “Pen and Paper” (offline) mode, to be attempted on the drawing sheet of A4 size.
  • Exam Duration: 3 hours

  • The Drawing Test will evaluate sketching and drawing skills and consists of 2 Questions.
